About this work
This art work is connected to the internet. Every 10 minutes the work connects to the internet and "harvests" news feeds, from a range of selected sources.. Each word in the news source is then transformed into colour and movement for the oribots. Words are depicted as colours, and each new word switches the opening and closing of the oribotic blossom. The transformation happens in one of two ways: If there is a user defined digestion colur for a word, that colour is used; or if there is no user definition, a phonetic to colour analysis takes place. Each word is broken into its phonetic parts, and each phoneme has a pre-assigned colour. The colours used are those created in Australian contemporary artist Louisa Bufardeci's work Colourphonics.
Interaction
There are two key ways to interact with the work.
Interact :: Feed the oribots
Change the food the oribots eat.
By feeding the oribots the user changes the food the oribots eat. The users selects a new category of feeds. The category contains many sources that have been grouped together.

Interact :: Alter their Digestion
The art work has a built in dictionary of over 100,000 words. Users are asked a simple question: to choose a colour that best suits a word. The words are first selected by their frequency of occurance in everyday text, each response is recorded and the latest response is used in the next "digestion". This process is rather organic, and you may not be aware of how you have affected the work, over time the entire dictionary will be filled with user defined colours, and a history of user choices will become available.
